Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how PianoAi ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our mobile application and related services (the "App").
Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
- Account information — such as your name, email address, and login credentials when you create an account. If you sign in using Google or Apple, we receive basic profile information (such as your name and a unique account identifier) from that provider to create and authenticate your PianoAi account. We never receive your Google or Apple password.
- Audio input — with your permission, the App accesses your device's microphone to listen to your piano playing so it can provide real-time feedback on notes, timing, and rhythm.
- Practice and progress data — including songs practiced, exercises completed, scores, and streaks.
- Device and usage information — such as device type, operating system, app version, IP address, and general usage analytics. We use IP address information to help detect sign-ins from new devices and protect your account.
How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and improve the App's core features
- Analyze your playing in real time to generate feedback and recommendations
- Personalize your practice path and song recommendations
- Maintain the security and reliability of our services
- Communicate with you about your account or the App
Microphone and Audio Data
Audio captured by the App is used solely to analyze your performance and provide feedback. Audio processing may occur on your device or be sent securely to our servers for analysis. We do not use your audio recordings for advertising purposes.
Signing In with Google or Apple
PianoAi lets you create and access your account using Google Sign-In or Sign in with Apple. When you choose one of these options, the provider shares limited information with us — typically your name and a unique account identifier — so we can create and authenticate your PianoAi account. We do not receive your Google or Apple account password.
Your use of Google Sign-In and Sign in with Apple is also subject to the privacy policies of Google and Apple. We encourage you to review those policies to understand how they handle your information.
How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers who help us operate the App, including cloud hosting and analytics providers, authentication providers (such as Google and Apple, to verify your sign-in), and IP geolocation services (to help detect sign-ins from new devices), or when required by law.
Data Retention and Security
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App's services. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.
Your Choices
You can control microphone access through your device settings at any time. You may also request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us through our Support page.
Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date above.
